The beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia lies between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny mountains.
It has a long incredible history dating back to the 1600s. Permanent settlements began to arrive in the
area in the 1730s, mainly German and Scotch-Irish immigrants. Perhaps the valley is most noted though
for the role it played during the Civil War. Known as the breadbasket of the Confederacy, the valley was
of strategic importance to both the Union and the Confederacy.
The valley also has a long history of paranormal activity. Actually paranormal activity and history go
hand in hand. Currently interest in the paranormal is at an all time peek with numerous televison
shows on topics ranging from ghosts and hauntings to ufos and sea monsters.
The purpose of the Shenandoah Valley Paranormal Society is to offer visitors and guests to the area a
selection of paranormal information ranging from paranormal groups to ghost tours to actual travel
investigations that guests can participate in legitimate overnight investigations at some of the most
haunted locations in the United States as well as the valley.
